To create is a mystery and to be in the presence of this mystery is an enigma. I collage because this form of art allows me to fold, unfold, and refold enduring metaphysical questions I have about the mystery in the creative act of living. It is a space where I can explore infinite possibility and how parts and pieces that never before existed together can suddenly come to illuminate each other. My intuitive approach is a form of soul alchemy.
To create a new type of unity from the fragments and dissociated elements, digitally or on paper, helps me deeply to understand the divine principles of connection. I follow the movement of the parts to experience what constitutes the whole, and to explore the harmony and order in the chaos.
I have an academic background, but teaching myself visual art became a chosen path and a constant source of learning. I am based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and I also have the privilege to have lived in Lisbon, San Juan, New York, Tel Aviv, and Paris. I am a mother and a wife. A daughter and a friend. A woman. Fragmented. Whole. Eclectic. I am an assemblage.
